Digital Campaign Workshop | CSRL | Oxfam GB

Machizo's Team Leader 'Shahjahan Siraj' has given training to the CSRL group members from different district of Bangladesh. The workshop covered the social media, content management system, blogging, content publishing and power of new media for grassroots development and campaign issues focus to climate change and CSRL's activists. In the workshop, CSRL's new web http://www.csrlbd.org screened which has been designed by Machizo.

Workshop on Social Media and Social Bookmarking

Focuss.Info Bangladesh workshop on "Social Media and Social Bookmarking" it the extension of the Bangladesh Conference . Although the number of participants was limited (20x), Siraj Shahjahan reflected on the country’s new media reality improvement by improving technical skills and widening information sharing motivations among the participants. Along with social media and bookmarking, the workshop gave an overview on blogging, twittering (micro), and writing on the web. 

The Bangladesh Conference on “Improving Research Infrastructures with Social Media” was held on 24 and 25 February 2011 (http://www.focuss.info/bangladesh ) in BRAC. From the learning of that conference, we keenly felt the need for more training on the social media, particularly for the web masters of NGO, universities, institutes, media, human rights organizations and  social media practitioners.  In this workshop, we focussed practical matters. 

Along with social media and bookmarking using, we overviewed blogging, twittering (micro), writing for web, however introducing with all popular social networking platforms, features and social book marking plug-in, modules, components etc.

Special lecture by Dr. Brian Shoesmith and Dr. Jude Genilo have been given in the training session. Dr Jude gave lectured on community informatics and digital inclusion; however Dr. Brian shared his experiences in Bangladesh and Australia.





The three day workshop will cover essential options of social media in a participatory manner. The topics would cover the link of social bookmarking of blogs platforms (Blogger, Wordpress, Typepad, etc.), CMS platform ( Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress etc ), social networking (Facebook,LinkedIn, Orkut, Hi5, etc.), micro-blogging (Twitter, Tumblr, Yammer, etc.), photos sharing (Picasa, Facebook, Flickr! etc.) Wikipedia, video sharing (YouTube, Vimeo, Metacafe, etc.), document and presentation sharing (Scribd, SlideShare, etc.), Livecasting video and audio (Ustream, Skype, Blip, etc.), social bookmarking (Delicious, StumbleUpon, Google Reader, Diigo, keepyourlinks, AddThis, etc.), social news aggregation (Digg, Reddit, Technorati, etc.) and so forth.

Computer, Internet and Photography Training for Child Journalist of UNCEF Bangladesh


Two days long computer, internet and photography training for child journalist of Shishu Prokash of Dhaka team hold at MMC premises on July 25-26, 2008. With the support of UNICEF, Mass-line Media Centre (MMC) organized this training. Shahahjahan Siraj, a online journalist and multimedia professional facilitated this training. News editor Moniruzzaman Khan; Sub editor, Masum Bellia and Dhaka Team Leader, M. Tohidul Islam of Shishu Prokash present in the training. 10 child journalist participated in this training.
