The name “Machizo” comes from “Machi Ukegazou”, a Japanese word means “waiting for change” linked to the mission and vision of Machizo Multimedia Communication. It is a Dhaka based social entrepreneurial media organization. Machizo provides professional media services, local content creation, training, online journalism, advocacy and introducing latest multimedia technology for social development. It actively promotes ethical uses of multimedia, majority access to knowledge and information, online journalism, visual education as well as human rights and human potential development beyond the cultural and geographical boarders.

Vision: Working to establish the harmonious and peaceful information society by expanding the ownership of modern information and technology is to rural and disadvantage people solving the digital divide properly is the vision of Machizo.

Mission: With this vision Machizo is upholding the mission to change the traditional approach, stagnant development process however non-ethical practices of media and internet. With this vision the Machizo strategically organize the projects, activities, research and advocacy so that mass people particularly the disadvantage and grassroots people can empower by the latest information and modern communication technology. In the way Machizo will facilitate that situation can advance for poverty alleviation, people participation, democracy, social justice and unity by grasping the digital opportunity, local content publishing and making effective Glocal ( Global + Local ) connectivity. It is committed to produce media kits on development, leadership and human rights issues by focusing MDGs, democratic participation, and conflict resolutions.

Working ethos: To Promote “ newmedia ethics “ Machizo question to the dull approach of “Big Media” and unethical use of internet. So it supports with the movement , “Stop Big Media ” and “Save the Internet” . However `Local content, local voice`, `majority access to information and technology`, `One info Center for One Village` and `Information for Peace and Unity` are the mottos of Machizo`s initiatives. All the projects and activities of Machizo are linked to MDG ( Mellinnium Development Goals), Culture of Peace and Universal Human Rights declarations.

However to contribute for establishment of the peaceful information society Machizo has launched first South Asian multimedia and development webzine ` UnnayanNews ` and establish UnnayanNet - Bangladesh ICT and Development Network . It is famous for its E-Jaban and “ Total Beauty” initiatives that promoting Bangladesh contents as Japanese version, which is known as “ Bangladesh De Matsu ”. However Machizo contributes to organize bi-annual “Educational Video Festival for Grassroots Youth and Children”.
To give ICT and innovative web design supports to grassroots NGOs and development organizations is Machizo`s regular project.

As a professional house Machizo has expertise to provide multimedia content creation and communication services as Bangla, English and Japanese languages. Along with social responsibilities it designs creative website, multimedia CD/DVDROM , logo branding, however does action oriented development research, copy writing, online promotion and media consultancy.
